A short distance below the ford, lies Jack-Dam #1. The lower wings
of the dam were recently installed by a work party from Chestnut
Ridge Trout Unlimited, Dunbar Sportsman's Club and Game Commission
Workers. The Dam is the smallest of 5 Jack-Dams on Dunbar Creek and
is the one most likely to provide dry fly action. Best results can
be obtained by casting from below the pool, either into the boil,
or to the top of the dam and letting the fly drift over the edge.
The primary lie is almost dead center across the pool, about 3 feet
from the edge. Let the fly drift all the way across the pool in
various locations, as the fish frequently patrol and exchange
positions all around the pool. The Picture in the lower left corner,
shows a 10 inch brook and a 7 inch brown which are actively feeding
in the primary lie of this habitat.
